TIMBOON and district organisations have been encouraged to apply for funding from the Timboon Opportunity Shop (TOPS).
TOPS co-ordinator Brenda Parfett said applications were open to local organisations, sporting club and show societies in need
of finance.
“Over the years TOPS, has helped many local projects thanks to the work of the volunteers who sort the goods that people donate to us and prepare them for sale as in pricing, and placing in shop or if a big item maybe available in the shed,” she said.
“We are fortunate to have a volunteer Chris who can post it on Facebook every week so check out our site for latest goods that are available for sale.
“We have toys, games, school wear sewing needs as in patterns, knitting needles, wool, manchester, linen cushions table cloths, books fiction and biographies, every subject and author.
“Our shed has many and varied pieces of furniture, worth checking out.”
Mrs Parfett said volunteers were the lifeblood of the shop.
“Many volunteers have special interests whether its books/kids clothing etc. and the committee recognize these skills and try to encourage these interests,” she said.
“Monica who dresses our model all the time, and often goes with a theme or the seasons, our model is named Mollie so she can spark great interest to shoppers.
“So when you go to shop or peep in the window you can check out what Mollie is wearing. It adds a bit of fun to the atmosphere of shop.
“Racing carnival starts up so check out the fashions on the field at TOPS there may be a special hat.”
