Timboon Men’s Shed inaugural shed members Tom Hose and Terry O’Connor were presented with life memberships in honour of their years of service to the shed.

Members gathered to present two life memberships to inaugural members Tom Hose and Terry O’Connor prior to Christmas.

Shed president John Wigley congratulated the pair on the life memberships.

“These two have been right with the men’s shed since it first started,” he said.

“They’ve both been on the committee and served the shed.

“It’s a proud moment for them.”

Mr Wigley said as well as the life memberships, two certificates of appreciation were presented to Sheryl O’Connor and John Rowney.

“Going through the history of the club these two were the main instigators in getting the shed started,” he said.

“It’s been 13 years since the process started and 10 years since we moved into the new shed.

“The new shed is going good and we’ve got about 23 members currently.”

The Timboon Men’s Shed is located at 41 Bailey Street Timboon and is open each Tuesday between 9am and 1.30pm and Thursday between 9am and 12noon.

Mr Wigley said the shed keeps busy with a lot of community projects.

He encouraged residents interested in joining to call into the shed during opening hours and see what the Timboon Men’s Shed is all about.
