Eagles galore
EAGLES were soaring across the scorecards at the Terang Golf Club last weekend.
Saturday and Sunday’s competitions resulted in some great scores, including an eagle to visiting golfer David Walker from Colac.
A field of 47 players contested a stableford event on Saturday.
A grade was won by Leo Beasley 96) 39 from Phil Beasley (1) 37.
B grade went to Sam Heffernan (17) 42 from runner-up Hugh Kenna (20) 41.
Balls down the line went to Stephen Vaughan (21) 39, Angelo van den Huevel (16) 39, Brad Lucas (24) 38, Mark Couzens (2) 37, Tyler Beasley (4) 37 and Geoff Nuske (16) 36.
Nearest the pins: 3rd Leo Beasley, 6th Jason Karney, 8th Gary Huebner and 11th Luke Tebble.
Eagles went to David Walker on par four, fifth hole (holed out from 142 metres) and Michael Sargeant on the par five, 10th.
Last Friday’s twilight nine-hole was won by Nick Marshall on 19 points from Brad Lucas on 18.
Sunday’s 18 hole stableford was won by Riley Scanlon (4) 40 from Linda Kenna (32) 38.
Eagles went to Josh Brown on the par four, 13th; Danny Kenna on the par four, 15th; and Leo Beasley on the par five, fourth hole.
This Friday will be twilight, nine-hole golf from 2.30pm (composite course on holes 1, 9, 15, 16, 17, 18, 10, 11 and 7).
Saturday and Sunday will be stableford.
Upcoming events include the men’s and women’s club championships.
First round of the men will be February 21, second round February 22, third round February 28 and round four on March 1.
For the women, the first round will be February 19, second round February 26 and round three on March 1.
A reminder to men wishing to play their first or third rounds on the respective Thursdays that they must let Nick Marshall know asap.
