Electric mop catches alight
QUICK action from homeowners prevented any house damage Scott Street Adat a minor house fire in Camperdown last Sunday.
A Country Fire Authority (CFA) unit was called to a Scott Street home at around 10am on Sunday, June 28.
CFA District Six acting assistant chief fire officer Peter Lockwood said the fire was minimal and caused by a charging electric mop.
“There was no damage, just a lot of smoke,” he said.

“Quick action prevented further damage being caused.
“Firefighters assisted the owner with extracting smoke from the house as a result of the fire.”
The homeowner used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire.
