Wyles captured her 11th title in an absorbing match against Ro Dunstan, winning 27-16.

She established an early lead but Ro fought back to level the scores at 15-all before Wyles, using all her experience, pulled away to win another title.

Dunstan made up for her loss when she teamed with promising junior Keira Johnson in the ladies’ pairs to win the title from Barb Boyd and Rene Wyles 13-8.

In the men’s pairs final, Paul Richards and James Henry put their names on the trophy with a nine-shot win over Algie White and Noel Brebner, 16-7.

Mid-week pennant recommenced last Tuesday with division one hosting top side, Colac City.

The scores were close all day, with Gold holding a four shot lead at lunch.

The scores continued to fluctuate after lunch, with City holding on to secure a 74-70 shot win.

John Molan’s rink of Michael Brebner, Pam Place and Kell Edwards bowled well during the day to defeat Lynda Inglis’ rink by 10 shots, 26-16.

Leanne Fitzgerald’s rink of Craig Skene, Janet Molan and Greg Teal battled hard all day to just go down to Carol Hanson’s rink, 21-28.

Barb Boyd’s rink of Rene Wyles, John O’Donohue and Elaine Waterfall also went down to Rebecca McMahon’s rink by seven shots, 23-30.

The loss sees Golf remain in sixth spot on the ladder, 17 points behind the fourth-placed Simpson.

Golf will play Simpson next Tuesday so a win is a must if they are to remain in finals contention.

Teams for next Tuesday away to Simpson (skippers to arrange transport) are:

Greg Teal, Janet Molan (m), Craig Skene and Leeanne Fitzgerald (s).

Elaine Waterfall, John O’Donohue, Rene Wyles and John Molan (s).

Kell Edwards, Pam Place, Terry Place and Peter Reilly (s).

In division three last Tuesday, Golf hosted Colac 4 in a match to decide who would hold down fourth spot on the ladder.

Colac reigned supreme with a 20-shot win, 43-63.

Dan Stewart’s rink of Liz Riches, Trish Taylor and Ro Dunstan went down to Edward Riches’ rink 17-20.

Carol Wilson’s rink of Noel Brebner, Ruth Skene and Terri Sinnott lost to Barbara Panther’s rink, 12-25.

Peter James’ rink of Garry Brian, Pat Scott and Val Coverdale went down by four shots to John Barrow’s rink, 14-18.

The loss sees Golf slide to fifth position on the ladder, six points behind Colac 4.

With a tough match at home to Camperdown next Tuesday, a win is very important.

Teams for next Tuesday’s game at home to Camperdown are:

Val Coverdale, Pat Scott, Garry Brian (m) and Peter James (s).

Terri Sinnott, Ruth Skene, Noel Brebner and Carol Wilson (s).

Mark Winsall, Steph Whiteside, Liz Riches and Ro Dunstan (s).

Division one Saturday competition will resume tomorrow, with Golf away to Colac City.

City currently sits in fifth on the ladder and will be desperate for a win.

However, Golf is just as desperate as they are trying to stay out of relegation position.

Golf welcomes back four star players but unfortunately has lost a number of players who are unavailable for various reasons.

Division one teams for tomorrow away to Colac City:

Greg Teal, Peter Reilly, Tom Spokes and Craig Skene (s).

Jack Paasse, Andrew Anderson, David Bateman (m) and Glenn Winsall (s).

Taj Merrett, Graeme Fitzgerald, John Molan and Paul Richards (s).

Greg Edwards, Greg Molan, Billy Conheady and Kev Conheady (s).

A reminder the bus will leave Bath Street at 11.20am. The driver is Peter Reilly.

In division two, Golf will be at home to fourth-placed Apollo Bay and a win would see Golf creep closer to a place in the top four.

Once again the team has been weakened with the unavailability of players.

Division two teams for tomorrow at home against Apollo Bay:

Ray Bateman, Noel Brebner, Michael Brebner and Leeanne Fitzgerald (s).

Keira Johnson, Ro Dunstan (m), Mark Winsall and Dan Stewart (s).

George Bateman, Daryl O’Donohue, Terry Place and Chris McLeod (s).

Peter James, Pam Place, John O’Donohue and Algie White (s).

Division three will be at home to cross-town rivals Camperdown and unfortunately due to 23 members being unavailable, Golf will only field three rinks.

Teams for Golf 3 at Camperdown are:

Pat Scott, Andrew Whiteside, Elaine Waterfall and Garry Brian (s).

Xavier Crabbe, Kell Edwards, Liz Riches and John Salau (s).

Trish Taylor, Ruth Skene, Janet Molan (m) and Rene Wyles (s).

The club wishes Rene Wyles and David Bateman all the best for their respective matches in the singles Champion of Champions being played in Colac on Sunday.

Duty team this week is Peter James’ rink.
