THE last month of winter brought lower rainfall in the regions than the previous year.
Camperdown recorded 51.1mm of rainfall in August, which is close to half of last year’s total of 105.5mm.
The figure is also lower than the long-term monthly average of 93.2mm.
Camperdown saw its highest daily rainfall on August 18, where 15mm hit the ground.
The total rainfall for Camperdown this year currently sits at 507.7mm
Meanwhile, Lismore recorded 30.8mm of rainfall for the month.
The figure is lower than last year’s total of 75.4mm and is also lower than the long-term average of 68mm.
Like Camperdown, Lismore saw the highest daily rainfall on August 18, where 5.6mm of rain fell.
Lismore’s rainfall total for 2023 currently sits at 345.4mm.
Derrinallum saw 34.4mm of rain hit the ground in August, which is lower than the previous year’s total of 74.2mm.
The figure is also lower than the long-term monthly average of 72.7mm.
August 18, like Camperdown and Lismore, was Derrinallum’s day of highest daily rainfall, with 6.8mm recorded.
Derrinallum’s rainfall total currently sits at 350.8mm for 2023.
