Equipment upgrade
TIMBOON Police Station will see increased capacity for roadside drug testing thanks to new equipment and additional resources.
Senior Constable Gagan Singh said officers will be conducting more roadside drug testing for the safety of the community.
“Timboon Police Station has significantly enhanced its capability and capacity to conduct roadside drug testing, with new equipment and increased resources set to bolster efforts in detecting drug-affected drivers,” he said.
“This strategic upgrade aligns with Victoria Police’s commitment to reduce road trauma and improving safety across all Victorian roads, enabling local officers to perform more frequent and comprehensive drug screening operations, thereby increasing deterrence and removing impaired drivers from the local roads.”
Residents can expect to see an increased police presence on the road as efforts to deter roadside accidents caused by drug-affected drivers are conducted by police.
