This month’s artist is Susan Boyd, a self-taught artist whose works feature both traditional and upcycled materials.

This ranges from acrylic paint, watercolour and ink to crushed glass, glue and recycled canvas.

Mrs Boyd said she hopes to bring a smile to people’s faces on a winter’s day.

“I love Camperdown – this peaceful, beautiful town surrounded by rugged nature,” she said.

“My art is bright, colourful, obvious and I hope it brings the viewer joy.

“Let yourself feel the colours, the places and the friendly fauna.

“It’s personal as there are places I love there – there’s country landscapes, beaches and a few animals as well.

“My wish is for all who visit to find themselves smiling at some point.”

Mrs Boyd said she was grateful for the opportunity to exhibit her works.

“I grew up on a farm the youngest of eight with a love of creating,” she said.

“When I look back, I was doing little bits and pieces when I was really young, but I didn’t feel like I was going towards arts or anything.

“About 10 years ago, one of my friends encouraged me, and that encouragement has grown from family and other friends.

“New beginnings have been a big part of my life – finding joy in the little things.

“Above all, my husband, children, family and friends have allowed, encouraged and supported me on this journey.”

The exhibition will be on display throughout August at the Camperdown Courthouse at 179 Manifold Street.
