Explore day draws a crowd

LOCALS and visitors alike were given an opportunity to explore Mount Leura and Mount Sugarloaf Reserves on Djargurd Wurrung land.

LOCALS and visitors alike were given an opportunity to explore Mount Leura and Mount Sugarloaf Reserves on Djargurd Wurrung land.

The Mount Leura and Mount Sugarloaf Management Committee organised an afternoon of family friendly activities recently.

Committee member Graham Arkinstall said the committee was pleased with the event.

“There was more than 50 people in attendance,” he said.

“Given the weather we were really pleased with the numbers.

“We had a lovely day and ran all theactivities that we were able to.”

Activities including bird watching, basket weaving and kids activities.

“Brett Clarke put on a performance which was well attended,” Mr Arkinstall said.

“Brett’s time with us is always a powerful chance for us to learn about the Indigenous culture.”
