Exploring the structure of Corangamite
CORANGAMITE Arts is celebrating the various buildings, architecture and structures across the shire for this month’s exhibition at the Camperdown Courthouse.
The group’s exhibition ‘Buildings, Architecture and Structures’ will be on display throughout June.
Corangamite Arts president Sue Hollingsworth said she was hoping residents will enjoy this year’s exhibition, which features 44 works from the 15 members of the art group.
“It has been both exciting and rewarding creating the many works now on display throughout June at the Camperdown Courthouse,” she said.
“Under the shared theme of buildings, architecture and structures, Corangamite Arts members have explored a wide variety of ideas, styles and techniques.
“The exhibition features mixed media, abstract interpretations and structures of thread and fabric alongside traditional watercolours, oils and acrylics.
“From detailed depictions of local buildings to more expressive responses to structure and form, the diversity of work reflects both our individuality and our shared creative spirit.
“We are proud of the way our group continues to support and encourage one another – whether though regular art sessions, sharing ideas or simply enjoying each other’s company, Corangamite Arts remains a welcoming and inspiring space for all involved.”
As this month is a celebration of all members, Corangamite Arts will not be having a feature artist.
“We’re pretty excited because it’s a great opportunity for people to showcase their work,” Ms Hollingsworth said.
An exhibition launch was held yesterday (Thursday, June 4) to allow residents to meet with the artists behind the exhibition.
Residents can view the exhibition until the end of the month at 179 Manifold Street.
