Explosion of colour at College

STUDENTS from Camperdown College’s Junior Campus were awash with bursts of colour last week as they participated in a colour run organised by JuniorSchool Council.
The colour run involved students fundraising for the event and arriving to school in white t-shirt and accessories ready to conquer the obstacle course set up for the occasion with the message for the day being inclusion and celebrating differences loudly and proudly.
Junior School Council leading teaching Ms Madi Helmore said that was when all thefun began.
“The Camperdown Fire Brigade were on hand to hose down the students, leaving them wet and in perfect condition to be hit with colour,” she said.
“It was a rush of colour as far as the eye could see as students ran through the obstacles and were splashed with coloured powder, colouring them along the way.
“Around 180 students and teachers were involved in the day and it was a great way to finish off the school week by inviting parents and friends to come and observe thecolour rush.”
Ms Helmore said the Junior School Council had worked hard throughout the year to bring events to the students which were fun and interactive.
“This one was definitely a hit,” she said.
Funds raised will go towards the Let’s Talk Foundation, which helps raise awareness around the need to talk about mental health.
