Facelift for Peterborough businesses

TWO businesses in Peterborough will get a facelift thanks to support from the Moyne Shire Council.

The businesses shared in $23,000 across the shire under the 2024/25 Business Façade Improvement Program, announced at the December council meeting.

Moyne Shire mayor Karen Foster said the program, which has been running since 2021, had been successful with more than 80 businesses to-date benefiting from the funding.

“With more people getting out and about, an attractive shopping strip will entice people to stop and spend in our local communities,” she said.

“With up to $5000 available to businesses looking to update, clean or refresh their shop fronts the program has been well subscribed.

“Works such as refreshing outdoor dining spaces, sign repainting and veranda repairs are sure to be well received with the advantages of the program seeming to extend beyond the business itself with many local tradespeople also benefiting.”

Peterborough House received $5000 for removal of a garden and paving, installation of a large sliding door and a new entry awning.

Ted’s Café in Peterborough received $2500 for construction of outdoor bench seating incorporating a community herb garden and signage.
