Feedback sought on scheme amendment
A NEW planning scheme amendment aims to create funding and investment opportunities which support local industry and encourage new business in Corangamite Shire.
Amendment C65 lays the strategic foundation for development of the Camperdown Production Precinct.
Deputy mayor Laurie Hickey said the amendment implements the ‘Camperdown Production Precinct Masterplan (2024)’ by making a number of changes to the Corangamite Shire planning scheme.
“The amendment covers 14.52 ha east of Timboon Creek and north of Old-Geelong Road, divided by Depot Road,” he said.
“The amendment proposes to rezone land from Farming Zone to Industrial 1 Zone, allowing for greater use for industrial purposes.
“It also applies the design and development overlay schedule nine introduces built form and siting guidelines for all new development in the precinct.
“It adds the Camperdown Production Precinct Masterplan as a background document and makes some minor changes to wording that will clarify strategic direction.”
Cr Hickey said community members can inspect the amendment, supporting documents and an explanatory report at www.planning.vic.gov.au/public-inspection, by calling the Department of Transport and Planning on 1800 789 386, or at the civic centre at 181 Manifold Street, Camperdown between 8.30am and 5pm.
“Anybody can make a written submission supporting or opposing the amendment and suggesting changes,” he said.
Submissions can be sent by email to planning@corangamite.vic.gov.au, or through the post to Planning Department, Corangamite Shire Council, 181 Manifold Street, Camperdown VIC 3260, until January 6, 2025.
