Thanks to everyone who bought a ticket and donated goods for the raffle.

Last Sunday there was one man standing in the WDPA mens’ singles - Kevin Johnson.

In the quarter finals his first task was Tom Englezos (Port Fairy) and unfortunately for Kevin, his journey ended there. Well done to Kevin.

Last Wednesday was the last night of twilight bowls for 2023 and the final was between two teams - Ditch Dodgers and Never Looked Like It.

While both teams were battling it out, there was one team that rose to the occasion and congratulations to the 2023 Twilight Bowls Christmas Champions - Ditch Dodgers - Caleb Draffen, Josh Springall and Richard Draffen.

Well done to the runners-up Never Looked Like It - Dean McKenzie, Nigel Boyden and first-time player Chris Carey.

Thanks to Mortlake Motors and Mortlake Pre-Mix Concrete for their support and thanks to everyone that had a roll with us this year.

The 2024 summer twilight bowls season starts back up again on Wednesday, January 31.

All skill levels welcome - from first-timers like Chris to seasoned players, come down and start the New Year right with the most accessible sport in the world - lawn bowls.

Entries are now being taken for the 2024 summer season and can be directed to Noel Smith 5599 2426 or Scott Pierce 0418 218 547.

A few reminders - nominated mixed pairs day is on Sunday, January 14 and is a good way to ease back into the bowls season after the Christmas and New Year festivities.

Everyone welcome and entries are via the signup sheet in the box near the main entrance of the clubrooms.

Thanks to Noel and Pam Smith for their support of this event.

Midweek pennant and Tuesday social pennant resume on Tuesday, January 16 and weekend pennant resumes on Saturday, January 20.

The men’s and womens’ club pairs entries close on Saturday, January 27.

Members wish Jim Wallace a speedy recovery back to the green and thoughts are with Julie and the family at this time.

On behalf of the members of Mortlake Bowls Club, we would like to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a safe, Happy New Year.
