Final round for Cats starts this weekend
LADDER leaders Allansford Panmure proved too strong for Mortlake’s division one cricketers last weekend.
The Cats, sitting 10th on the Warrnambool District ladder, had the Gators at 10/290 in their first innings and then 10/121 in the second.
Best of the bowlers during the Gators’ second innings were Sam Wareham with 2/6 from five overs and captain Todd Lamont with 2/6 from six.
Clinton Baker also had a good day with the ball, taking 2/17 from six while other wicket takers included Josh Slater 1/23 and Taj Podger 1/12.
In reply, the Cats struggled at the crease and managed 10/62.
The only batsmen to reach double figures were Corey Rounds (10) and Brendan Gherash (13).
Mortlake will host third-placed Merrivale this Saturday for the final two-day round of the home and away season.
