A 94-point victory over Old Collegians was a rewarding way to end the home and away season for Kolora Noorat last weekend.

The Power put on four solid quarters of footy to cement third spot on the Warrnambool District ladder and give themselves the ‘double chance’ going into finals.

“I was really proud of the way the boys played on Saturday; it was a good hit out leading into finals,” senior coach Nick Bourke said.

“We were able to consolidate our skills and our game play and it just showed that when we apply constant pressure all over the ground it can result in a big score."

“We fought hard through four quarters and kicked a big score as a result. That’s a good show at the business end of the season.”

While he was impressed by his entire playing group, Bourke made mention of the tireless efforts of Ryan O’Connor at centre half-back, Chris Baxter on the back flank and Ben Reid “a small forward who provides lots of energy for us.”

Final scores on Saturday were Kolora Noorat 17.15.117 to Old Collegians 3.5.23.

Among the best for Power were Ryan O’Connor, Ben Reid, Fred Beasley, Luke Tebble and Benjamin O’Sullivan.

Goals went to Lucas Boyd (3) Samuel Boyd (3) Fred Beasley (2), Ben Fraser (2), Scott Judd (2), Nick Marshall (2), Ben Reid, Joel Moloney and Ben O’Sullivan.

Kolora Noorat’s reserves side also had a good win on the weekend, 9.6.60 to 8.7.55.

Goals went to Martin Wynd (3), Rhys Cottam-Starkey (2), George Beasley, Tyler Beasley, Thomas Henderson and Bradly Williams.

Bradley Lucas, Mitchell Wyss, Martin Wynd, Thomas Henderson, Tyler Beasley and Bradley Williams were named among the best.

Kolora Noorat’s seniors will face Panmure in this Saturday’s qualifying final at DC Farran Oval, Mortlake.
