Finals approach
TWO weeks out from the finals, the top three spots in Terang Table Tennis appeared to be locked in, with TIC and Saints battling it out for the fourth spot.
This changed with the final round when I Don’t Care dropped from third to fifth, as the three sides all finished on the same points with final positions being decided by rubbers won through the season.
TIC finished with 37 rubbers, Saints 35 and I Don’t Care 33.
This week, for the first time, all finals will be contested on the one night.
Favourites Tio Maina will play Saints in one semi-final, while Youngsters will battle it out against TIC in a replay for five of the six players from last season’s grand final.
For the second time this season, the finals may see sides as selected, with close matches anticipated.
Will the best side all season, Tio Maina, be premiers?
