Chasing the opportunity to play in a grand final, this weekend’s round of semi-final games will see Bookaar take on the Cobden Knights at the Camperdown Lakes Reserve from 11.30am, while Pomborneit and Heytesbury Storm will clash at Cobden.

At the end of the home and away season last weekend, Bookaar finished top of the table with 12 wins and just the one loss for the season.

They were followed by Pomborneit in second with nine wins, just four points ahead of Storm, with the Knights rounding out the top four.

Last Saturday’s high temperatures resulted in the Pomborneit/Boorcan match being abandoned.

At other grounds across the district, the Knights (8/265) were big winners over Woorndoo (10/95), with Campbell Walsh smashing a century for the Knights, which included 13 boundaries.

He was well supported at the crease by opening batsman Matthew Boyle with a quick half century from 46 deliveries (including six boundaries and two sixes).

Camperdown’s 10/127 wasn’t enough to ward off Bookaar (2/129), while Storm (4/280) were too good with the bat, defeating Ecklin (10/83).

Storm opener Hamish Huffadine finished the day on an unbeaten 137 from 118 balls in an innings that included 14 boundaries and four sixes.

He was well supported by captain Matthew Love, caught by Tyson Royal on 51.

Last weekend marked the end of the season for Boorcan, Camperdown, Ecklin and Woorndoo in the division one competition.

In division two, Bookaar will face Cobden at Camperdown Lakes and Pomborneit and Storm will play at Cobden.

The first round of finals for division three will see Storm and Woorndoo play at Timboon, while Boorcan Recreation Reserve will host Storm and Pomborneit.
