Fire engulfs vehicle

CREWS from across the district raced to the scene of a vehicle fire in Mortlake over the weekend.

A Country Fire Authority (CFA) spokesperson did not reveal the cause of the fire, but confirmed a vehicle fire inside a shed had caused damage.

“The CFA was called to a ute on fire threatening a shed on Waters Lane at Mortlake at 1.34pm on Sunday, March 15,” the spokesperson said.

“Firefighters found the vehicle on fire inside a shed.

“The fire was brought under control at 2.25pm and declared safe just before 3pm.

“CFA had seven trucks on scene supported by a Fire Rescue Victoria crew.”
