First round for veterans

THE first round of the Corangamite Veterans Golf Association was played at the Camperdown course last Monday, March 4.

Sixty-one players enjoyed the day’s events, with Peter Skene from Camperdown winning A grade on 71 nett from Carl Horan (Cobden) on 72.

In third place was Des Read (Birre) on 74.

B grade was won by Ed Body (Colac) on 66 nett followed by Gary Lafferty (Camperdown) 71 and Terry Coolahan (East Framlingham) 75.

C grade was won by Daryl Johnstone (Terang) on 71 nett followed by Colin Venn (Terang) 73 and Vince Beerman (Peterborough) on 75.

Nearest the pins: 2nd Peter Hrabor (Terang), 9th Bruce McSween (Cobden), 15th Charles Cowell (East Framlingham) and 17th Kevin Plozza (Timboon).

NAGA: A - Bob Bates 89; B – Paul Grinter 86, C – Ken Jane 91.
