Fleet expansion
THE future looks bright for Timboon Motors with the business signing on a new car line.
The local business is now dealing Indian-based Mahindra vehicles which are continuing to grow in popularity.
Timboon Motors dealer principal Ashley Cook said Mahindra has had a regional presence in Australia for a number of years.
He said Timboon Motors will be stocking three of the Mahindra line at this stage, two SUV and a diesel four-wheel drive called the Scorpio.
“They have a ute as well, which is dear to our hearts as we sell a lot of utes,” Mr Cook said.
“They have a brand new ute coming next year – it looks really nice.
“The new ute is the one we are really looking forward to. Half our sales volume historically have been utes.”
Timboon Motors had an extensive history with Holden which came to an end in about 2021, and the business has been on the lookout for a new line to deal since.
“We are excited and very honoured to get the opportunity,” Mr Cook said.
“We’ve managed to keep on all our staff and they are looking forward to getting a crack with the new vehicle.”
Mahindra, while having a presence in Australia for a number of years, has recently started to push for more of the Australian market and signed on a number of dealerships.
Mr Cook said car critic reviews of the vehicles had been receptive to the range.
He encouraged interested residents to take the models in stock for a test drive.
“We think people will be surprised by them,” Mr Cook said.
“You are getting a lot of value for your money, which in the current climate is fantastic.”
