Fleetwood Mac classics revived
DREAMS came true for many Fleetwood Mac fans in Camperdown last Saturday when tribute band Tusk played at the Leura Oval.
Close to 150 people attended the concert on Saturday night, where residents enjoyed Fleetwood Mac classics including Dreams, Don’t Stop and Tusk.
Tusk is a Fleetwood Mac tribute band who began touring in 2008, performing covers of the original 1967 band’s music.
Camperdown Recreation Reserve committee member Murray Lucas said the Camperdown Football Netball Club had bands perform in previous years, but Tusk was one of the first in a number of years,
“I’d actually seen them perform in Warrnambool at the end of COVID-19, and I thought they were really good, and they’d be a good acquisition to get for the Camperdown Football Netball Club to have a night out locally with them,” he said.
“They were really good – their music was spot-on, and it was just a real take on what Fleetwood Mac were like in the day.
“I then made contact through their website and I managed to book them in for the footy club.
“We targeted outside people for the night, rather the football paternity, so we had some places who were having Christmas parties.
“That was our aim – to try and attract outside interest to the club.”
