Followers to unite in prayer
THOSE of faith will gather in Terang next week to unite in prayer for those impacted by war in Palestine.
A large cohort is expected to gather in Terang as part of World Day of Prayer, a global ecumenical movement led by Christian women who welcome everyone to join in prayer and action for peace and justice.
Locally the World Day of Prayer will be held at St Thomas’ Church in Terang on Friday, March 1 at 1.30pm.
The guest speaker this year will be Justin Staunton, who has travelled on several occasions to Palestine.
The theme this year is ‘I Beg You… Bear With One Another In Love,’ taken from Ephesians 4:2 which urges unity among and from those of faith.
All members of the public are invited to attend.
“Through worship service, we can come to know how our brothers and sisters of other countries, languages and culture understand Biblical passages,” Terang’s Des McKinnon said.
“To hear the needs and concerns of others, and to stand in solidarity as we pray for and with them.
“We can enrich our Christian faith as part of a larger international expression.”
