MARCH 1 will mark the end of an era at the Cobden Post Office for Ewart and Lynette Mounsey.

MARCH 1 will mark the end of an era at the Cobden Post Office for Ewart and Lynette Mounsey.
With the sold sticker officially in place, the couple, who have become synonymous with the Cobden Post Office, prepare to say their final goodbyes to customers.
Mr Mounsey said the pair had owned the post office for 22 years and he had worked at the post office 61 years.
“We’ve agreed to stay on for a month once the sale goes through,” he said.
“It was overwhelming to find out it had sold.”
The news was somewhat bittersweet; while the pair will miss the customers, they are looking forward to retirement.
Mr Mounsey said there had been a number of changes over the years with Australia Post, the advance of technology one of the biggest.
However, one thing has remained constant in that time – the customers who continue to support the family owned business.
“Thank you to all the customers for their support over the years,” Mrs Mounsey said.
“We hope they support Angie the same as they have us.
“Thank you to Davina from Ray White Camperdown for her support with the sale.”
Mr Mounsey said he was looking forward to retirement, although the couple has no plans as of yet.
