Broken: Sewerage works have damaged a recently-laid footpath in Camperdown.

A section of footpath along Leura Street has been damaged by works on the Fenton Street Big Build development.

The footpath, which was only installed within the last 12 months, has been left cracked and with broken fragments between Fenton Street and Lovett Street.

Corangamite Shire chief executive officer David Rae said the damage was related to essential sewer works for the social housing development in Fenton Street.

“We have been in touch with the developer regarding the damaged footpath and the expectation is that the developer will fix it,” he said.

“Timing is yet to be confirmed as the sewer works will need to be finished before the path can be repaired.”
