Frogs caught in Storm
FIGHTING for a top eight position on Saturday, Ecklin were well beaten in the round 12 Colac-South West premier cricket competition match by Heytesbury-Princetown.
The visitors batted first in the match at Ecklin, posting an impressive 6/280.
Adam Korth was the best of the Ecklin bowlers with 4/39 from nine overs.
Despite a half century to Harry Bee, Ecklin could only manage 104 from 24.5 overs.
Bee, the only Frog to make double figures, hit 54 from 40 balls with four fours and three sixes.
This week the Frogs play City United on turf at the Eastern Reserve in Colac.
The division two Frogs had the bye and this week will play Cobden at Cobden.
In division three, Ecklin scored a six wicket win over Woorndoo at the Timboon High School oval.
Woorndoo posted 8/176 batting first from their 40 overs.
The Frogs raced to victory in just 28 overs for the loss of four wickets.
Murray Ellerton top scored with 53 from 58 balls, Kayne Marshall made 47 from 55 with Mark Fraser hitting eight boundaries in his 38 not out from 17 balls.
This week the division three Frogs play Cobden at Ecklin.
In the under 13s on Monday night, Ecklin had a 29run loss to Bookaar at Frederick St.
The home team batted first, making 6/114.
Alex Gubbins took two wickets, with one each to Charlie Simpson, Penny Marlow and Jimmy Selman.
In reply, Ecklin managed 6/85 from their 24 overs.
Alex Gubbins top scored with 20 retired from 28 balls, with Jack Gilmour making 13.
This Monday's under 13 game sees Ecklin hosting Boorcan at Ecklin.
