From dust to triumph... campdraft champions crowned
THERE was plenty of action both in and outside the competition arena at last month’s BR&C Agents Swan Hill Campdraft event.

More than 200 competitors travelled from across Victoria, southern New South Wales and southern Australia to compete in Australia’s own horse sport of campdrafting.
A massive three days of competition – held from September 25-27 – saw riders and their horses tested across a range of classes, providing spectators with non-stop entertainment.
The Boyd family from Koorangie Beef Mystic Park, the Hamilton family at Tikkawarra Dairys Wakool and the Toohey family from Toohey Farms Tel Point supplied around 1000 head of cattle for the weekend.
Organisers were also grateful for the support of Richardson Contracting and Thommo Transport who safely carted the livestock all weekend.
“This year has been the biggest year by far which is just amazing,” organisers said.
“The sport continues to get more and more popular every year and it’s so good to be able to take so many competitors.
“Being a family orientated sport, we have also started running a minis cut-out which is for children from the age of five through to eight.
“They chase ‘fairies’ in the cutout yard, which mimic the cattle, and it has quickly become a great spectacle of a Saturday afternoon. We have an amazing group of people behind us and we’re proud to run such a successful event.”
