Full field for Robbie Burns Ambrose

LAST weekend’s Robbie Burns four-person ambrose attracted a full field of 28 teams.

This year’s event, hosted by the Camperdown Golf Club, was an outstanding success with teams representing various clubs from throughout the district.

The best gross scores, with 58 off the stick, went to locals Tom Moran and Jack Kerr, with their guests Peter Lucas and Hamish Haffedine.

The best men’s nett score winners were Camperdown’s Hayden Menzel and Ben Moulden, with Sam and Harper Rix from Cobden, on nett 60.

They were closely followed by Jake Clissold, Billy Arnold, Matty Field and Jake Hanly with nett 60 1/8th.

The best mixed nett score winners were Ros Brauer, Wayne Drayton, Stephen brauer and Ben Drayton with nett 59 1/8th.

The mixed runners-up were Dave and Kerrie Absolom, Jeff Collins and Glenis Keilor with nett 60 1/8th.

Dave Absolom claimed the nearest the pins on the second and golden hole 9th, while Ben Drayton took out the 15th and 17th holes.

Sam Rix had the straightest drive on the 18th fairway and Paul Stephens won the longest putt on the 8th.

Anthony Warburton, from Port Fairy, was judged best dressed on the day – upholding true Robbie Burns Scottish spirit.
