Fun on and off the track
IN perfect weather conditions last Thursday, Camperdown College Year Prep to Year Six students enjoyed their annual athletics carnival.
The morning session saw all students participate in a range of athletic events while those in Prep to Year Two rotated through eight activities.
This included target shot put, discus roll, sack race, relays, high jump, hurdles, foam javelin, egg and spoon race, and the beanbag shuttle.
The traditional events such as triple and long jumps, shot put, hurdles and sprints were contested by Years Three to Six.
“It was great to see the enthusiasm and joy the students demonstrated towards each other,” sport coordinator Matt Harkin said.
“The parents/staff versus student shuttle relay over 70 metres was another highlight, as always.”
Once points were tallied, Bullen Merri was named the winning house with 505 points.
They were followed by Manifold on 486 and Leura with 425.
Congratulations also to the age group champions:
12/13 years – Noah Boyd and Reagan Webb.
11 years – Crawford Dunn and Phillipa Murphy/Zoe Unwin.
10 years – Kensie Austin-Ruff and Callen McLaclan.
8/9 years – Jack Hilman and Emily Menzies.
A huge thank you to the staff, Year 10 students and parents for their support on the day, along with members of the Parents and Friends group who supplied the barbecue.
A full list of students who qualified for district level will be released by the college early next week.
