MEMBER for Wannon Dan Tehan attended the 2022 Equestrian Horse Trials and announced funding for the Heytesbury Pony Club under the Stronger Communities Program.
The Stronger Communities Program provided $4500 in funding for the development of a secured riding area.
The secured riding area will encourage young horse enthusiasts to participate in a safe and secure environment and assist them in gaining valuable confidence.
Mr Tehan said building on their confidence will then enable riders to transition to larger riding areas.
“Equestrian activities continue to grow as an activity, and particularly participation rates of juniors at the beginner and immediate levels,” he said.
“The provision of a safe riding area will provide them with an enjoyable riding experience.”
“I also acknowledge the incredible amount of volunteer work undertaken by the Heytesbury Pony Club and the opportunities they provide our youth who loves horses in building their confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a fun environment.”
The Stronger Communities Program supports the Australian Government’s commitment to helping deliver social benefits in communities across Australia.
The program funds small capital projects which improve local community participation and contribute to vibrant and viable communities.
