POLWARTH Labor Candidate Hutch Hussein met with local groups recently after a series of projects were funded in the Corangamite Shire.

The Victorian Government recently announced $1.25 million for five projects through the latest round of the Regional Infrastructure Fund and Investment Fast Track Fund.

Corangamite Shire Council will receive funding for:

• Unlocking Housing Terang, $607,500;

• Camperdown-Timboon Rail Trail bridge replacement, $474,885;

• Corangamite Council organics waste management assessment, $40,000; and

• Camperdown Theatre Complex Project, $75,000.

Fonterra Cobden also received $50,000 to explore milk spray dryer efficiency and reliability improvements.

Mrs Hussein welcomed the funding in the shire.

“It was terrific to hear from Corangamite Council about how the $75,000 grant will assist them to start the process of converting the old theatre complex into a co-working space and upgrade their library facilities,” she said.

“I’m so proud of Labor’s $474,885 contribution to replacing the bridge for the Camperdown-Timboon Rail Trail bridges.

“I can’t wait to come back with my family and ride the trail.”
