Funding: The Camperdown-Timboon Rail Trail Committee has recently installed a new reverse-cycle air conditioner at the Glenfyne hall thanks to funding.

Camperdown-Timboon Rail Trail Committee chairman Pat Robertson said the committee had been able to purchase a reverse-cycle air conditioner for the hall thanks to the support of the Timboon Opportunity Shop (TOPS) and Corangamite Shire Council.

“We got grants from both of them,” she said.

“We’ve now got the hall set up with air conditioning. It will be much more amenable for using the hall.

“Now we’re looking at getting more use from the hall.”

Mrs Robertson said the new installation cost about $5000.

“A very special thank you to both the shire for continuing to support us and TOPS for continuing to support us,” she said.

“TOPS have also supported us with grants for maintenance; we’ve got a pole saw and a boom spray, which has been fabulous.

“We appreciate their support so much.”

Mrs Robertson also gave thanks to Ride With Us for its ongoing support.

“They are making a contribution to the rail trail committee each week,” she said.

“Every donation helps us so much. We really don’t have a huge income stream.

“The costs of maintaining the trail are quite significant.

“It (the rail trail) is getting more and more use, and we are trying hard to maintain it.”
