MAGPIE forward Cameron Spence will notch up his 100th senior game tomorrow.

The talented 26- year-old, now in his fifth season as assistant coach at Camperdown, will run out with the Magpies’ for their clash against Koroit at Leura Oval.

“I guess 100 senior games is a bit of a personal milestone but footy is a team sport so that’s what I prefer to focus on,” Spence said.

“It’s a great club to be around and I’m really enjoying my footy.”

Spence has enjoyed a long association with the Camperdown club, having played all his junior footy with the Magpies.

He began in the under 12s and later, as a 17 year-old, played his first senior game for the Pies.

A short stint in Brisbane, playing for local club Redlands, about three years ago was his only hiatus away from Leura Oval.

Older brother Ashley also wears the black and white, this year lining up with the reserves.

“There’s a great family atmosphere here and being able to help out as assistant coach has also been rewarding,” Spence said.

“We’ve got quite a young playing group this year but they’re starting to gel really well and they’re improving all the time."

“This Saturday’s game will be a tough one against Koroit but we’ll certainly go out there and give it a good crack. Koroit is the benchmark but we’ll do what we can.”
