Game-winning third term from Demons

LISMORE Derrinallum’s senior footballers celebrated their fifth win of the season with a convincing 73-point victory over Glenthompson Dunkeld.

Playing on the Rams’ home ground, the Demons finished on 14.11.95 while containing the home side to 3.4.22.

Lismore Derrinallum led by 15 points at half-time, Demons coach Alec Wiltshire noting that the home team had set up well early.

“They always match up well against us, they changed a few things up for this game and made it hard for us to score by clogging up our forward line,” he said.

However, the Demons scoring opened up in the third quarter, kicking 7.5 to no score.

“The third quarter was our best quarter of the year so far, we got past their tactics and played our game,” Wiltshire said.

Max McIntosh and Josh Sanders were the Demons best, Wiltshire full of praise for their contributions.

“Max plays off half back, he hadn’t played for a couple of years but he gives us plenty of drive,” Wiltshire said.

Austin Humphrey and Henry Walsh rounded out Lismore Derrinallum’s best players list.

“I can’t remember beating Tatyoon at their ground in my time at the club, they have a lot of new players so it will be interesting to see what we come up against,” Wiltshire said.
