Planting day: Timboon and district residents are invited to a community planting day this weekend.

Heytesbury District Landcare Network project officer Kate Leslie said the event will be held on Sunday, June 2 between 10am and 12noon.

Helpers will be working to revitalise a section of Power Creek between Timboon Fine Ice Cream and Timboon Railway Shed Distillery.

“Tim Marwood cleared out a blackberry infestation about a month ago,” Ms Leslie said.

“We will be planting a mixture of indigenous trees.

“We’re putting the seedlings back in to provide homes and food for the birds.”

Community members are asked to bring their gardening gloves if they would like to use them, with all training provided on the day.

People attending are asked to meet at the Timboon Railway Shed Distillery car park.

For further information contact the Heytesbury District Landcare Network on 5598 3755.
