Gas leak fixed
CAMPERDOWN’S Country Fire Authority (CFA) units were called to Manifold Street in Camperdown on Tuesday following reports of a gas leak.
Gas issue: CFA members were on scene following reports of a gas leak in Manifold Street.
A resident reported smelling gas near the Commonwealth Bank at around 12.30pm, with the bank evacuated as a precaution.
Camperdown CFA member/volunteer Danny Gordon said CFA members stayed on scene to ensure no naked flames were lit in front of Pizza and Pasta Magic.
“There’s a gas regulator concealed under the footpath, and it’s suspected there is a leak somewhere around the regulator,” he said.
Gas provider AusNet confirmed there was a leak from the gas regulator, which was repaired later that afternoon.
