Gentsomes at Mortlake
GOLFERS contested a three-person gentsomes event at the Mortlake club last Saturday.
Tony Richardson (12), Rob Field (13) and Dougal Ranken (17) finished ahead of the field on 102 points.
Runners-up were Paul Wareham (11), Wes Wareham (18) and Andy Casson (20) on 96 points.
Nearest the pins: 3/12 Tony Richardson, 6/15 Garry Shalders and 9/18 Rob Field.
Balls down the line went to Ben Boers, Tony McLennan, Gary Glossop, Scott Richie, Kurt Robertson and Craig Fowler.
The nine-hole twilight event on Friday, January 19 was won by Tony McLennan (18-51-33) on countback from runner-up Peter Palmer (5-38-33).
Nearest the pin was Richard Van Diemen and (visitors) Bill May and Kim Killeen from Casterton.
Wednesday’s vets’ day was won by Kevin Etherton (4) nett 48.
The runners-up was Richard Van Diemen, Ken Murley and Steve Hubbard on nett 49s.
Nearest the pins on the third, sixth and ninth was Kevin Etherton.
