Gentsomes at Mortlake

MORTLAKE golfers enjoyed a three-person Gentsomes event at the course last Saturday.

Hamish Weatherly (44), Rob Field (10) and Dougal Ranken (15) finished on 84 points to win the event on countback from runners-up Merv Hampson (28), Steve Hampson (31) and Glen Byers (22) on 84 points.

Nearest the pins: 3/12 Steve Hubbard, 6/15 Wes Wareham and 9/18 Glen Byers.

Balls down the line went to Peter Palmer, Kevin Etherton, Ben Boers, Richard van Diemen, Steve Hubbard and Les Dawson.

Twenty-three players contested a nine-hole twilight competition last Friday.

This was won by Richard van Diemen 9-41-32 from Andrew Whitson 16-50-34 on countback.

Third place went to Ian Jubb 15-49-34 who was also nearest the pin on the 9th.

Next week’s event will be stableford.
