Girls compete at state titles
A GROUP of talented basketballers from St Patrick’s School has shone brightly at the recent state Hoop Time championships in Melbourne.
St Patrick’s year three/four Hoop Time squad.
The year three/four girls performed remarkably well at the titles on December 4.
Coached by teacher Carly Hickey, the team finished third in their pool (a highlight of the day coming in the final game when they defeated a previously unbeaten side).
The girls earned a wildcard entry into the state finals after competing in the regional playoffs in Hamilton on October 24.
After a highly competitive day at the regionals, the girls reached the elimination final only to go down by just three points to St Patrick’s Koroit in extra time.
