Glatz Black Angus (GBA) bulls are Angus cattle the way they should be: Problem-free; high-performance; structurally sound, and docile.

Glatz bulls are generationally bred to be more robust, muscular, and profit driven in comparison to some Angus cattle of today.

These black bulls are ideally suited to self-replacing weaner producers whose calves are easily finished on grass or short-term grain.

In weaner sales, AuctionsPlus sales, and PTIC female offerings, Glatz-bred cattle consistently lead the way. These are the sound reasons why forward-thinking cattle breeders continually look to Glatz Black Angus as their preferred genetic partner.

Glatz blood steers have also achieved the highest honor in MSA’s own ‘Excellence in Eating Quality’ award. These 200 steers were ranked #1 across MSA Compliance, MSA Index and MSA Marble Score criteria.

That analysis was conducted over a two-year delivery period, and included consignments from 760 MSA registered producers.

Whether finished on grass or short-term grain, Glatz bulls produce male offspring that quickly and efficiently reach a premium, high MSA indexing 300kg-350kg finished carcase.

Meanwhile, GBA’s female offspring can advance your self-replacing herd forward. These replacement females are proven to perform well under heavy stocking rates, and are medium-framed, easy-keeping, and productive.

Important production traits like fertility, milk, and docility are never compromised. After all, selection for conformation and type are non-negotiable aspects of all breeding decisions.

The Glatz Black Angus stud female herd is maternally strong, sound-structured and hardy. All heifers are joined as yearlings.

The herd grazes dry-land Phalaris, Ryegrass, Fescue and Sub clover pastures at a minimum stocking rate of 30DSE/ha.

All stock experience significant nutritional pressure throughout Autumn and Winter.

The Glatz Black Angus 2026 Cattleman’s Bull Sale will showcase uniform and impressive sons from the following sires:

Ellingson Rangeland

Ellingson’s Angus is one of the best credentialled Angus herds in the USA and is renowned for breeding structurally-sound bulls that are ideal for self-replacing cow herds. In particular, Rangeland sons excel for Calving Ease, Growth and Maternal Traits. Rangeland progeny were also the highest averaging sire group in GBA’s 2025 Autumn and Spring bull sales.

Rennylea Nationwide

Nationwide was selected for AI use as a proven 6yo sire. He ranks in the top 1-2% of the Angus breed for 200 Growth, 400 Growth, 600 Growth and Carcase Weight. Positive Calving Ease.

Black Angus Wattle Street Q127

The first progeny of Black Angus Wattle Street Q127 sold to an equal top price of $40,000 in GBA’s 2023 SA Bull Sale and averaged $24,250. Wattle Street is a Proper Beef Bull: Super Sound, Super Docile, Super Thick and Heavy. Wattle Street ranks in the top 1% of the Angus breed for Docility; top 2% for 200 Growth, Foot Claw Shape and Foot Angle; top 3% for 400 Growth and 600 Growth; top 6% for EMA; top 14% for Retail Beef Yield and top 17% for Scrotal Size.

Black Angus Tom Stewart T407

Tom Stewart T407 is a rock-solid sire for improving Docility, EMA and Foot Structure. His first progeny are from 2yo heifers and mature cows. They express tremendous muscle and are high-yielding cattle built on extremely correct structural foundations. He ranks in the top 1% of the Angus breed for EMA and Retail Beef Yield. Top 3% for Docility.

The GBA sale catalogues will again include their own innovative data analysis: All bulls will be displayed with Glatzs’ Key Performance Indicator “KPI”. The KPI rates all bulls according to the traits that are of the most economic influence to their Southern Australian clientele: Self-replacing weaner producers whose calves are finished on grass or short-term grain.

Ben and Samantha Glatz invite breeders to inspect the impressive sale team for this 2026 Autumn bull sale. Visitors can expect to see Angus bulls with a difference, reflecting a long-term laser focus on breeding robust beef bulls with extra muscle, weight, and calving ease.
