Glenfyne dominates cross-country

GLENFYNE Gold House has continued to dominate the cross-country event at Cobden Technical School, taking out the winning shield last month.

For the sixth time in seven years, Glenfyne Gold was the winning house at the school sports event on Tuesday, April 21.

It was pleasing to see students compete in the three kilometre course around the school oval and the Circuit de Savage walking track, all trying to improve their times (while demonstrating the school’s HEART values).

Glenfyne Gold finished the day on 170.5 points, followed by Tandarook Red 141 and Shenfield Blue 120.5.

Congratulations to all age group champions:

Under 13 – Sienna M (new record, Glenfyne Gold) and Jett D (Shenfield Blue).

Under 14 – Matilda W (Glenfyne Gold) and Ryan B (Glenfyne Gold).

Under 15 – Stephanie S (Shenfield Blue) and Harry R (Glenfyne Gold).

Under 16 – Charli R (Shenfield Blue) and Zander W (Glenfyne Gold).

Under 17 – Olivia B (new record, Glenfyne Gold) and Riley B (Shenfield Blue).

Under 18-20 – Tabitha P (Tandarook Red) and Zac S (Glenfyne Gold).

Several students qualified for the HSSD cross country which was held in Camperdown last Wednesday, May 6.

The under 16-20 students ran the five kilometre course while others ran the three kilometre course.

Congratulations to Riley B who was the first runner home in the under 17 boys and was named age group champion.

Well done to all students who competed ran the challenging course and competed in winter-like conditions.

The following students have qualified to compete in the Greater Western Region cross-country to be held at Albert Park, Warrnambool, on Tuesday, May 26 – Sienna M, Olivia B, Xander W, Felix N, Riley B, Jett D and Zac S.
