Glenormiston takes the title
THERE was plenty of action in the Heytesbury Indoor Bias Bowls Association’s Drawn Fours Championship.
In the quarter finals, Cobden (Glenn Cain, Denise Sharp, Jillian Lynch and skip Joyce Robert) lost to Scotts Creek (Dawn McDowell, Jan Hutchison, Trevor Hobbs and skip Allen Armistead).
In the semi-finals, Timboon Lawn (Val Blake, Sjan Berry, Murray Lucas and skip Noah Mungean) defeated Scotts Creek and booked a place in the grand final.
In the other semi-final, Camperdown (Maureen Smith, Gordon Weller, Les Dorman and skip Kelvin Rundle) lost to Glenormiston (Dawn Hadfield, Cheryl Ham, Deb Noonan and skip Max Heard), with Glenormiston booking its spot in the grand final.
Timboon Lawn and Glenormiston had an exciting grand final match, with Glenormiston taking the win – and the title of Heytesbury Drawn Fours Champions for 2024.
Congratulations to Dawn Hadfield, Cheryl Ham, Deb Noonan and skip Max Heard and well done to runners-up Timboon Lawn - Val Blake, Sjan Berry, Murray Lucas and skip Noah Mungean.
This concluded the 2024 Heytesbury Championship program with one last event to come - the 2024 Single Entry Triples tournament.
Good luck to the Heytesbury players currently fighting for victory at the Nationals in Tanunda, SA.

For those not going to South Australia, there will be a tournament at Simpson Hall tonight, Wednesday, August 28, at 7.30pm.
Presentation Night and 60th birthday celebrations will be held on Wednesday, September 11at Cobden Golf Club (6.30pm arrival for a 7pm dinner).
