Bailey and his Victorian team-mates took out their division at the Tenpin Bowling Australia President’s Junior Shield National Championships, which were held over three days from last Thursday.

Despite facing challenges over the three days, Victoria emerged victorious in the male division of the shield, securing the title with a total of 105.5 points and playing a big part in Victoria’s silver medal in the overall race.

This marked Victoria’s fifth male division title in shield history, their last triumph was in 2014 in Lidcombe, New South Wales.

Bailey had a great tournament, bowling 16 games out of a possible 21.

He won 10 games, drew one and lost five – averaging 195.1 over the three days and finishing 15th in the rankings.

His highest score was 244.

Over the 21 games, Victoria finished on a score of 105.5 to take the gold ahead of North Queensland 101.5, with South Queensland third on 99.

In the overall combined division (boys and girls) Victoria finished with a silver medal.
