Golf day and auction tradition continues
LOCALS can do their bit for the Good Friday Appeal with a round of golf in Timboon this week.
The popular Timboon Good Friday Appeal Golf Day is on again this year, with Timboon and district residents invited to enter the 14 hole three-person ambrose event.
Timboon Good Friday Appeal area manager Lee Edge said entries are limited, with registrations being taken from 9.30am for a 10.30am shotgun start at the Timboon Golf Club on Friday, March 29.
She said the event is for golfers of all abilities.
Registrations are $75 per team, which includes lunch.
“The teams are starting to come in now, which is good,” Ms Edge said.
“If people haven’t got their teams in yet, they need to do it as soon as possible.
“We are looking forward to holding the event. It’s always enjoyable and we get people coming back year and year again because they know it’s a great cause.”
There will be a number of prizes on offer during the day, including nearest the pins, long rivers, worst score and spinning wheels.
A small charity auction will be held after the golf event.
Ms Edge said local businesses continue to support the event.
“Once again our supporters are all onboard and are much appreciated,” she said.
“It will be held after the golf and the general public is more than welcome to come along.
“There’s heaps of vouchers, hampers, toys, tools, farm items and more.”
Ms Edge said she is looking forward to the appeal.
“The CFA trucks will be out and about collecting donations, so we encourage people to keep an eye out for them,” she said.
“Donations can also be dropped into the Timboon Golf Club throughout the day.”
