SMALL change helped make a big difference to the lives of Victorian children, with the Camperdown Good Friday Appeal raising more than $24,000.

Camperdown appeal co-ordinator Kellie Kempton said she was thrilled with the final result.

“It (the appeal) went really good,” she said.

“I think we will probably hit the $25,000 mark, with money still coming in.

“I’m rapt, to go from $12,000 last year to double that this year is amazing.”

Ms Kempton said the wider community was supportive of the appeal, with volunteers helping to collect money from homes across Camperdown and surrounds.

“Over $6000 came in from the fire trucks out collecting. The Hampden Social Club gave us $2000,” she said.

“The Camperdown Lions Club members helped count on the day, thank you to them.

“We had a lot of young kids collecting which was great. There were a few familiesas well.”

Ms Kempton said the day ran “really well”.

“Thank you to the whole community for its support on the day,” she said.

Across the state, more than $17 million was raised for the Royal Children’s Hospital.
