Good win for Lakers
CAMPERDOWN’S division one cricketers notched up their fourth win of the season when they defeated Woorndoo last weekend.
Having won the toss and elected to bowl, the Lakers put on a good show in front of their home crowd, containing the visitors to just 10/75 in the 37th over.
Nicholas Frith had a great day out at the crease, taking 6/19 off 10 which included four maidens.
Team-mate James O’Neil was also effective, taking 2/24, while wickets fell to Bernard McLeod and Ethan Coates.
In reply, Camperdown was quick to surpass the Tigers, reaching 1/76 after just 15 overs.
Dominic Absalom was unbeaten on 37 off 29 balls in an innings that included five boundaries.
John Reed was also not out on 22, while opener Lucas Rais-Colvin contributed a handy 13 runs before being caught.
Round nine of South West cricket this weekend will see Boorcan host Ecklin, Cobden home to Woorndoo, Pomborneit will face Heytesbury Princetown and Camperdown and Bookaar will meet at Camperdown College.
