GORCAPA appoints new coordinator

THE Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority (GORCAPA) has welcomed a new coastal operations coordinator to its team to enhance its coastal management.

Matt Quick will coordinate operations in the central and west zone of the Great Ocean Road, spanning an area from Separation Creek near Apollo Bay to Peterborough.

His role will include the management of the central and west coastal operations teams, maintaining foreshores, beach accesses and other public spaces managed by the authority.

Based in Port Campbell, Mr Quick will coordinate works at the authority’s new depots in Apollo Bay and Port Campbell.

“We’re working to streamline and coordinate land management arrangements across the coast and parks, ensuring a more unified approach to caring for these important coastal areas,” GORPACA coastal operations manager Caleb Hurrell said.

“Our role is to protect what makes this place so special while making sure it can be enjoyed – responsibly – by millions of people each year – and for generations to come.”
