Grand final showdown awaits Terang
TERANG Red bowlers are hoping it’s a case of second time lucky when they hit the greens next Tuesday.

TERANG Red bowlers are hoping it’s a case of second time lucky when they hit the greens next Tuesday.
The division three midweek pennant side is set to take on Dennington in the Western District Bowls Division pennant grand final at Port Fairy.
Skipper Diane Meade will lead Brian Kenna, Susan Keane and John Keane into battle, while Christine Kenna will lead Andrew Lackie, Judy Walters and Gwen Lock.
Cliff Kenshole and John Bell are emergencies for the 21-end contest which starts at 9am.
Meade said the side was looking forward to its date with destiny.
“We’re all very excited about it,” she said.
“Last year we made the grand final and lost so this year we want to a go a step further.
“We’ve got three over the age of 80 and they’re all craving success in their later years so we’d like to win it for those three.
“It would also be the first premiership for some too.”
Meade said success in the decider would also give Terang some highly sought silverware for its coffers.
They lost last season’s decider to Port Fairy Red by three shots with the same side and are eager to atone for the defeat.
“It would be the first midweek premiership since we’ve been playing together which is pretty exciting,” Meade said.
“We haven’t had a lot of success at Terang over recent seasons so it would be nice to put ourselves on the board.
“We’re very happy to be in the finals for a start and we’d love to win it but if it doesn’t happen, it doesn’t happen.”
Terang and Dennington have squared off twice this season, with the ledger at one win all heading into the decider.
Meade said both teams would fancy their chances in the contest.
“The first time they beat us by 14 shots (round five) and then we won the semi-final against them by 13,” she said.
“I reckon both sides are pretty even, it could be anyone’s game but we’ve just got to get in there (the head).
“If we have a good team effort on the day and have everyone contributing that will get us over the line.”
