Grand finals await bowlers
THE Simpson Hall was alive with semi-finals action for the Heytesbury Indoor Bias Bowls competition.

In division one, third and fourth place after the home and away season played off.
Timboon Lawn 1 (Jason Mungean (s), Pam Dwyer, Rita Mungean and Jean Clover) lost to Mepunga 1 (George Draffen (s), Ian Swain, Helen Harney and Rob McCrabb) 18-26, ending their season.
First and second-placed Glenormiston 1 and Timboon Lawn 2 played each other, with the winner booking a place in the grand final and the runner-up heading to the preliminary final against Mepunga 1.
After a close match, Glenormiston 1 (Allen Armistead (s), Ash Quick, Danielle Gilchrist and Scott Pierce) defeated Timboon Lawn 2 (Noah Mungean (s), Tyler Mungean, Keith Brown and Lara Mungean) 15-13.
In division two, Simpson 1 (Lyndon Rogerson (s), Maria Seabrook, Allan Beasy and Scott Ryan) defeated Cobden 2 (Brad Wilson (s), Gerrit Becker, Jill Lyons, Nick Saligari) 18-10.
Mepunga 3 (Peter Baker (s), Frank Harney, Clarrie Matthews and Yvonne Lenehan) defeated Mepunga 2 (Barb Draffen (s), Doug Byron, Les Lenehan and Karl Keegan) 24-9.
In division three, third and fourth place after the home and away season played off – Scotts Creek 2 (Louise Blair (s), Joyce Lindquist, Helen Hobbs and Audrey Armistead) defeated Peterborough (Lyn Payne (s), Dave Dendle, Angela Payne and Graeme Murfett) 23-10.
Also in division three, Mepunga 4 (Gerald Madden (s), Sally Madden, Gayle MacPherson and Julie Shiels) lost to Cobden 3 (Colin Spokes (s), Glenn Cain, Kath Spokes and Doreen Coverdale) 11-21.
The preliminary finals were played last Friday at the Simpson Hall.
In division one, Mepunga 1 defeated Timboon Lawn 2, 16-13 and will now face Glenormiston 1 in the grand final.
In division two, Mepunga 2 defeated Simpson 1, 13-10 and will face Mepunga 3 in the grand final final.
In division three, Mepunga 4 defeated Scotts Creek 2, 23-20 and will face Cobden 3 in the grand final.
The 2025 pennant grand final was held at the Simpson Hall on Wednesday night. All results will feature in next weeks publication.
A reminder that names and cards of club drawn fours champions must be submitted to the association secretary by Monday, August 11.
