Grant boost for Lismore golf

BUDDING golfers will benefit thanks to a Corangamite Shire Quick Response Grant.

The Lismore Golf Club Inc was approved a $500 grant for the delivery of two junior golf clinics at this week’s Ordinary Meeting of Council.

Councillors unanimously approved the application at Tuesday’s meeting.

“These are very helpful grants for the community to be able to access,” Cr Nick Cole said.

“They are well worth it.”

Cr Laurie Hickey urged community groups to get their applications in.

“These small grants make a big difference to all organisations,” he said.

The 2022/23 Quick Response Grants Program budget allocation is $17,500.

Annual allocations for each ward is set at one seventh of the fund’s annual budget in the case of North, South West, Coastal and South Central Wards, and three sevenths of the fund’s annual budget in the case of the Central Ward.

After this month’s allocation the Coastal Ward has $2100 and South Central Ward have $1600, while the North Ward has $200 remaining.

The South West Ward has $2500 allocation remaining and Central Ward has $700 available.
